The Sussexes Were Greeted With Loud Boos During Their First Royal Event In Two Years
Several people believe that the two sets of couples are still engrossed in a feud that started even before the Sussexes left the UK for the US. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly destroyed their relationship with many senior royals after their infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey was aired.
The couple accused the royal family of bullying and racism, which is bad for the image of arguably the most respected royal house in the world. This week, the Sussexes completed a highly anticipated return to the UK to partake in the Platinum Jubilee festivities. However, a new poll has shown that their popularity has hit its lowest point.
The poll conducted by YouGov indicates that just one-third of Brits (32% of the total voters) are behind Prince Harry and less than a quarter (23% of the total voters) are in support of Meghan Markle. A different poll conducted by JL Partners shows the same results, with only 27% of British adults supporting the Duke of Sussex, while only 22 percent have a good opinion about Meghan.
In another poll by YouGov on ‘who is the most respected member of the royal family,’ the Queen came out on top with about 80% of the vote in her favour. The Queen is reportedly putting in some efforts to force a reconciliation between the Sussexes and other royals.
