Sharon Osbourne has spoken out in response to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle being booed during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Sharon Osbourne Feels Sorry For Harry And Meghan After Being Booed At The Platinum Jubilee-‘I Mean, Can You Imagine’
The couple’s highly-anticipated return was complete, as they made their first appearance in the UK since their exit from the Royal family in 2020.
While it was a special occasion for the monarch, in being able to celebrate her 70th year in charge, it appears that Harry and Meghan’s conduct post the Royal family has tarnished their reputation.
In the clip here, we can see that couple exiting the National Service of Thanksgiving held at St Paul’s Cathedral. As the pair hold hands to show a united front, the bells can be heard drowning out the chorus of boos in the background.
That is why Sharon could not help but feel sorry for the couple. In her comments, she said: “The royal family has always been like a Shakespearean play for me.
“I have to tell you, when I saw them going in [to the church] earlier on, I felt sorry for them. And the way they were parted from the family, I felt sorry for Harry yesterday too.”
In reality, there was always going to be the prospect that the duo would not be well received. In the run up to their visit to the UK, they had already missed several key royal events including Prince Philip’s memorial, as well as the monarch’s birthday in 2021.
And given that their relationship with Prince William and Kate Middleton is not in a good place, they were hardly going to get the ‘royal’ treatment. With that being said, Sharon got the feeling that Harry may have regretted his decision making.
She added: “I mean, can you imagine how he felt yesterday with the whole family in that procession and he would have normally been there on one of those horses with his uniform and everything.
“And there he was shushing children.”
