The couple made a historic return to the UK for the first time since their exit from the Royal Family in 2020 to be in front of the British public.
They had received a mixed response, as they were booed while exiting the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St. Paul’s Cathedral. With that being said, reports indicated that the couple had left the UK prior to the conclusion of the Jubilee celebrations on Sunday, 5th June 2022.
And by the looks of it, they were keen to make an exit as soon as possible. In the picture here, we can see the couple in a tinted out car.
Harry is wearing a cap, as he is looking to keep a low profile away from any media attention. Despite making a quick exit, it is important to bear in mind the following factors.
First of all, the event was ultimately about the monarch. Therefore, by making a hasty return, they have taken the spotlight away from themselves.
Secondly, given that their daughter Lilibet had just had her first birthday in and amongst the Jubilee, they may be looking to spend some quality time with their daughter privately.
Nevertheless, that is not how the fans saw things on social media. A certain subset of people were of the view that they had disrespected the Queen by not staying behind to fulfil the full event.
After all, it is not often that she gets the opportunity to see her grandson and grandkids. One person wrote: “Why did they even bother to come over at all if they weren’t prepared to take part in the festivities with the rest of the family.”
