Meghan Markle’s attempts to tarnish the Royal family have massively backfired.
Meghan Markle’s Attempt To DESTROY The Royal Family Has ‘Failed Spectacularly’
That is according to Nile Gardiner, an aid to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Meghan’s return to the UK did receive a mixed response.
The mass crowds that gathered were accompanied by some boos that overshadowed their appearance. With that being said, it is safe to say that Meghan’s Oprah Winfrey interview did not resonate with members of the British public.
In his comments on Twitter, Nile said: “Meghan’s campaign to undermine the British Monarchy has failed spectacularly. Support for the Royal Family in the UK is at one of its highest points in decades.”
Nevertheless, those comments have to be taken with a pinch of salt. First of all, Nile did not provide any official sources for backing up his claims.
Therefore, outside of any evidence, it is safe to say that he is an ardent supporter of the Royal family. Secondly, it could be argued that Meghan went out of her way to show a united front despite her clear grievances with the Royal family.
It is not surprising, then, that the comments on social media were very divisive. A certain subset of people felt this was an attempt to dampen down the growing Republican movement emerging in the UK.
Meanwhile, others resonated with Nile’s comments, as they felt Meghan had been humiliated. One person wrote: “That doesn’t even come close to any reporting or polls from even the biggest republicans. So please share your source.”
While another person stated: “They thought they were bigger than Queen and country- their egos clouded decency and sense – everyone can see they are no more than a small sideshow, insignificant and less everyday.”
Now that we have seen a glimpse of the British people’s reaction towards Meghan, will she make a UK return again? Time will tell. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
