How about a quick and wild story to start the morning? Australian TikTokker @HotComaGirl113 (Brie Duval) shares stories about the five months that she was in a coma following a frightening fall and the aftermath. In August 2020, Duval fell from a 33-foot retaining wall and landed head-first on the ground. She would suffer a broken back, busted ribs, missing teeth, two separate brain bleeds, and was placed in a coma as she couldn’t breathe on her own. She was in horrendous shape and only had a 10-percent chance of survival—and she survived. Aussies tend to be pretty damn sturdy, folks.
Australian TikTokker Woke Up from 5-Month Coma Only to Find That Here Fiancé of 4 YEARS Had DIPPED
After she began recovering, she still dealt with post-traumatic amnesia. Simple things she had remembered like the back of her hand were just gone for three months. Then things started to trickle back and she remembered that she not only had a fiancé but they were together for four years!
We can’t forget that he was never at her side nor did he come to visit her. In speaking with the Daily Mail’s “Femail”, she noted that there was zero contact between them and that she was “blocked on every single platform including his phone.”
Duval also mentioned that the person who contacted her was her ex-fiancé’s current girlfriend. The new woman had Duval blocked because she was “insecure”. On that point, it’s like you’re scared of someone in a coma with a 10-percent chance of survival. What are you scared of? Vengeance from the grave?
“After four years, I was incredibly surprised. We were best friends, for years. I never thought in a million years this would happen,” Duval said of being ghosted while in a coma. “Especially at such an awful time in my life. I thought he was my soul mate, but I thought wrong.”
Her family couldn’t visit her in the hospital as her awful spill happened in year one of COVID-19 and Australia wasn’t letting people come and go from the country at the time. However, Duval is back with her family in Perth and has made a lot of progress in her recovery:
“I can now eat on my own and can now walk unassisted without a walking frame or wheelchair as I broke my back in the accident. I still have numbness from the waist down but have adapted my walking style so I can walk again.”
A restaurant supervisor before her accident, she expects to return to work next year. In the meantime, Brie Duval also continues to share her experiences and answer questions about being in a coma, making her one of the truly unique personalities on TikTok.
