For the past three years, Jon Moxley has been calling out Hiroshi Tanahashi, and has felt the ace was ducking him. Now, thanks to CM Punk breaking his foot and setting up a tournament for the AEW Interim World Champion to be named at Forbidden Door? Jon Moxley won the AEW side of things, while Hiroshi Tanahashi advanced on the NJPW side. Now, these two meet face to face on AEW Dynamite – as they truly set up the main event of Forbidden Door.
Chris Jericho Crashes Face To Face Meeting Between Hiroshi Tanahashi & Jon Moxley
Moxley would explain just how long he’s been chasing Tanahashi, explaining all his work in NJPW was to get to him. In his book, Moxley described Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Minoru Suzuki from King of Pro Wrestling 2012 as one of his favorite matches ever. Tanahashi is The Ace, but now Jon Moxley is the best professional wrestler on this planet.
There is a helluva lot more on the line on June 26th than a belt, as his last three years have built to THIS match. Moxley understands that this match is his make or break moment as a professional wrestler. Just as Tanahashi would look to speak, the music of Chris Jericho hit – a man who Tanahashi has lost to in NJPW in Wrestle Kingdom 14 in Tokyo Dome.

Chris Jericho would claim that he belongs in this spot, and Moxley is only here because Jericho wasn’t there. Suzuki-gun would swarm the ring alongside the Jericho Appreciation Society, as Jericho officially added Tay Conti & Sammy Guevara to the faction.
Minoru Suzuki lent El Desperado & Lance Archer to Jericho for the build to the Forbidden Door PPV, and Suzuki will team with Jericho on that night. The match will be Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki and Sammy Guevara vs. Wheeler Yuta, Shota Umino and Eddie Kingston!
Miro Punches His Ticket To Forbidden Door
At Forbidden Door, the AEW All-Atlantic Champion will be crowned with a Fatal Four Way match. PAC has already qualified, and tonight either Ethan Page or Miro will be able to punch their ticket to this match. Miro is freshly returned to the mix in AEW, having recently torn through Johnny Elite – while Page is someone who has been waiting for this chance to make his own singles impact in AEW.
Miro would be as determined as ever, as Page popped his pecs in the ring. Page would play the role of a coward and would try and keep away from and frustrate Miro, before some clubbing blows. Some kicks to the leg would drop Miro, before a kick to the arm. The arm was attacked in the corner before a standing armbar in the middle of the ring.
Miro would fight back and attack the arm of Page, before chucking him into the ring post. Page would roll to the floor, but was tossed into a barricade. Miro took this one back to the ring, before Page hit the pump kick to the jaw. Dan Lambert got a cheap shot in, before Miro nailed a dropkick. Miro would stalk Lambert at ringside, before Page hit the diving shoulder tackle. Page pressed the advantage back into the ring, before taking a Samoan Drop.
Miro would take a diving shoulder tackle before a slingshot cutter. Page would just fire Miro up, before being tossed about with some suplexes and crushed with the leg lariat. Kick to the spine and Game Over would be applied, with Page tapping out.
