On June 24, 2022, the U.S Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a 1973 landmark decision that legalized abortion in the United States. Social media is abuzz with people from both sides of the issue. The pro-life side is celebrating and some even attempt to explain that the procedure wasn’t banned while the pro-choice side is up in arms over it because of both the very likely and more extreme repercussions of overturning the decision.
WWE IMPACT Wrestling and AEW Superstars Are Weighing in on Roe v. Wade Being Overturned on Social Media
On Twitter, several wrestlers have voiced their disappointment and anger at the almost 50-year-old legal precedent of Roe v. Wade. IMPACT Knockout Jordynne Grace made an interesting point about Justice Clarence Thomas saying that other precedents such as those around same-sex marriage should be looked at as well:
This is extremely NOT normal. Dude is in an interracial marriage, which also was illegal until 1967. How could he possibly think this is okay? https://t.co/uK5M47Lw0l

AEW star Shawn Spears said “Freedom should include the right to choose. No longer the land of the free. #HerBodyHerChoice” in a statement that has been retweeted over 500 and liked almost 4,000 times so far. In a statement that has been retweeted 400 times and liked over 4,000 times, Scorpio Sky said he was “extremely disappointed in the Supreme Court. You have done a disservice to your country.”
Keeping with AEW but a bit of a twofer with a retired WWE superstar and current mayor in Knox County, Britt Baker responds to Mayor Glenn Jacobs—Kane—who celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision:
No wonder you couldn’t cut it as a dentist. #idiot https://t.co/39sZVzUfQ8

It should be noted that the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade the decision bounces the issue back for state courts to decide.
