June is pride month, and that’s a popular time for people to really take control of their identities and ‘come out’. You’ll see people come out as gay, lebsian, and for the sake of todays story – transgender. Fans of Impact Wrestling will be a bit familiar with Gisele Shaw, who has been competing as part of the Knockouts Division – and has revealed to the world that they are transgender.
Gisele Shaw Came Out On Toronto’s Breakfast TV
Shaw appeared on Toronto’s Breakfast Television on Friday to announce she is transgender. Shaw would be quoted saying the following to hosts Dina Pugliese and Sid Seixeiro.
“The news is that today I’m fully living my life to the fullest, truly authentic, freely, and I am a transgender and I’m very proud.
You know, it’s super scary but I feel the more I speak about it and it gets normalized and I just feel more free and accepting my own self and loving my own self and I think that’s really important.
Sports is great, I would want everyone to be included. People are getting away from, that trans people are discriminated against, that trans people are the targets of violence. That’s why I want to come out now, to help people hear about these things, that are so much more important than what they’re talking about on sports.”
Impact Wrestling Is Always Empowering Female Performers, and Shaw Is No Exception
As for how Impact Wrestling took this news, they are fully supportive of Shaw. Scott D’Amore would have the following to say.
