Last night during the Money in the Bank PPV, fans were confused by one aspect of the show. A vignette would air midway through the show, and left more questions than answers in the minds of fans. However, several clues inside the video have revealed who this is hyping up.
Edge Is Coming Back Soon
While first impressions of this video led many fans to believe it had something to do with Bray Wyatt, as the production style was in-line with video packages previously done for him – this wasn’t for Wyatt. All evidence leads to this being a vignette hyping up the return of Edge to WWE. The vignette featured items like a gold medal, a license plate reading “Latino Heat,” armbands, crosses, and glasses with tape in the middle.
These items can be easily linked to past wrestlers such as Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Jeff Hardy, Christian and the Dudley Boyz. All wrestlers that Edge has faced over his legendary career. This could all be leading to Edge going back in time for his next character in WWE, after a heel turn in early 2022 went nowhere after he was kicked out of the faction he started.
Judgement Day Need Edge Back To Reignite This Feud
Edge was written off TV prior to Money in The Bank, when The Judgement Day faction would cast him out in favour of Finn Balor as their leader. A brutal beatdown including a Con-Chair-To would take Edge off TV, giving time to retool his character.
If this leader change was a good idea is yet to be seen, as Damien Priest & Finn Balor were last seen in the ring of Main Event facing Rey & Dominik Mysterio. Edge making his return would hopefully reignite this angle ahead of Summerslam, where he will likely face Finn Balor in a major singles match.
Edge is at a stage of his career where fans really aren’t keen on seeing him do anything new. They want to see his iconic entrance, and judging by reactions – enjoy his grizzled old veteran character. The heel turn was not a smart move, and WWE made the right choice by backstepping in this situation.
