Nicki Minaj appeared to brutally shade Kanye West by calling him a clown.
Nicki Minaj Brutally Shades Kanye West-‘We Don’t F–k With Clowns’
The incident, in question, took place when Nicki was performing in New Orleans. It was during the course of her headlining at the Essence Festival of Culture.
And as part of that event, Nicki happened to be performing the song entitled ‘Monster,’ which she just so happened to have collaborated with alongside Kanye.
But the star decided to tell her DJ to pull the plug on the song, which was then followed up with the following comments: “I’m ‘Monster’-ed out, and we don’t f–k with clowns. [I want to] give a shout-out to New Orleans.”
It is not exactly clear why Nicki would decide to do this, but outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it could be due to the following reasons. First of all, the pair were alleged to have had a falling out.
Reports stressed that this all stemmed from the fact that Kanye had canceled Nicki’s verse from a song they had worked on together entitled ‘New Body.’ The track was set to go ahead on Kanye’s album ‘Yandhoi.’
But as that album ended up being scrapped and replaced with his other album ‘Jesus is King,’ the fans never got to see Nicki. Secondly, Nicki has also expanded on some of the challenges that she found when she was working with the rapper.
In some prior comments, Nicki remarked: “Kanye made me write my ‘New Body’ verse four times over in order to fit into where he was creatively and spiritually in his life.
“Only to then, I go on the internet a few months later to see him on Drink Champs.” It is safe to say that Nicki and Kanye are not on good terms. And this is not going to change anytime soon going forward.
