The most popular podcaster and the most popular UFC commentator Joe Rogan allegedly refused the opportunity to host ex-President Donald Trump on his podcast. Furthermore, this happened more than once. The reason behind his refusal, according to Rogan is that he ‘doesn’t want to help him’.
Joe Rogan Experience Podcast attracts millions and millions of listeners around the globe. He was popular since he emerged and started the podcast on Youtube, but, got frustrated with the censorship of the platform, and decided to exclusively move to Spotify. Now, this deal came with a massive $200 million backing it up. However, Joe Rogan seems happier with Spotify, because of its censuring policy as well.
Joe Rogan Refused To Have Donald Trump On The Podcast And Calls Him An Existential Threat – “I don’t want to help him.”
Joe Rogan often guests in his friend’s podcasts. Recently he was on the Lex Friedman podcast where he reveals the surprising fact.
“I’ve had the opportunity to have Trump on my show more than once. I’ve said no every time.” – Joe Rogan says while smiling.
The reason behind his refusal is even more surprising. Joe Rogan is a ‘fighter’ for free speech and no censorship but knows what to dodge when it comes to his podcast. Having Trump on the show is one of those things. According to Rogan, Donald Trump is “an existential threat to democracy itself.” And that is the main reason he is not willing to have him on the podcast.
“I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once. And I’ve said no every time, I don’t want to help him, I’m not interested in helping him.” – Rogan says.
The host of the podcast made one on-point remark here and asked Rogan how come he wants to avoid having Trump on the show but hosts many controversial personalities.
To this, Joe Rogan took Kanye West as an example. He says that Kanye West might be controversial, and might have strange looks to the world, but “Kanye doing well or not doing well doesn’t change the course of our country.”
These Rogan comments on the ex-President did not go unnoticed. Donald Trump has not yet responded to the podcaster directly, but might do so as soon as he hears about his statements. However, some of the Trump supporters did come back at Rogan for blasting their fellow Republican.
Steve Banon, the Trump ally and Republican commentator is amongst the first ones to reply.
“You’ve got Joe Rogan over there trash talkin’ Trump, ‘I don’t want to give Trump any platform’ – no offense, he doesn’t need your platform. He doesn’t need your low-information voters, okay? Trump deals with high-information people.” – Bannon says.
