That is according to Royal expert Tina Brown. It is no secret that the Royal family is going through some very difficult times. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ’s exit in 2020 created a situation where William had to pick up more duties.
In addition, the family’s troubles in not having cordial relations with Harry and Meghan, coupled with Prince Andrew’s sexual assault scandal has left William a little out of his depth.
And with Queen Elizabeth II not getting any younger, William is not seen as capable going forward. And the answer to that could be bringing Harry back.
In her comments, Tina said: “[Oprah interview] turned up the pressure on Prince William and Kate Middleton to pick up the slack.
“I do think at a certain point they are going to need Harry back, particularly probably after the Queen dies, because he was an asset.”
Tina’s comments do hold some weight for the following reason. The soon-to-be British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ex-girlfriend Petronella Wyatt called out William for allowing his family’s private life to be aired in public.
And she did not hold back on William’s incapability to carry out his role. In her comments at the time, she remarked: “Charles thinks he’s leader of the opposition.
“William is petulant and their family petty squabbles are in the papers almost daily.” The response on social media was divisive. A certain subset of people were of the view that there was no obligation on Harry to make a return.
After all, he left the Royal family to live a life of independence which he has managed to achieve. Meanwhile, others welcomed the possibility.
One person wrote: “WHY SHOULD HE? LET HIS PRECIOUS KATE DO WHAT SHE DOES,” while another person stated: “Family…Helping…Family…Matters!”
