Chantel Jimeno‘s parents—Karen and Thomas Everett, have never been one to keep quiet about issues surrounding their family. Ever since the news of their daughter and her husband’s divorce broke out, fans have been expecting what the reaction of the Everetts would be, and it seems they have it now.

The Family Chantel: Chantel and Pedro Jimeno’s Love Story

Chantel and Pedro Jimeno were once a happy couple from the 90 Day fiancé show. They met in the Dominican Republic and soon fell in love after Pedro started teaching her Spanish. Although the couple’s families were not supportive of their union, they were able to make things work and soon got married.

Pedro then moved to the United States with Chantel and was seen to be dependent on his wife, Chantel’s outspoken parents once accused Pedro of only being with their daughter for a green card and for “harvesting the American dollar.” Despite all of this, the couple seemed to be happy until Pedro found out certain things about his family, which affected the way he related to his wife. Soon after, he started treating his wife cruelly, and this angered a lot of fans as it looked like Chantel was struggling to make her marriage work while Pedro looked like he didn’t care one bit.

Recently, it was revealed that Pedro had filed for a divorce from his wife of 5 years, and there have been a lot of reactions from fans of the TLC shows—90 Day Fiancé and The Family Chantel. What many fans could not understand was why Pedro had to maltreat Chantel for that long when he knew he was no longer interested.

It seems Karen agrees, as she took to Instagram to express how she felt about the turn of events. “THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!! FELLOW PARENTS! AS LONG AS YOU HAVE BREATH IN YOUR BODIES, DON’T EVER ALLOW ANYONE TO MISTREAT OR RUN ROUGH SHOT OVER YOUR CHILDREN!!! God Bless,” she wrote on her Instagram story as a caption to a picture of herself and her husband. In a previous post, she shared a picture of Chantel and Pedro signing their divorce papers.
