Scott Steiner Warned Dixie Carter That Hulk Hogan Was Going To Kill Impact Wrestling

We’re seeing the 20th anniversary of Impact Wrestling this year, something some fans never expected to see. This is a company that has been through some hard times, but few match the lows that followed the legendary Hulk Hogan joining the company in 2009. Jeff Jarrett has now revealed that then owner Dixie Carter had been warned this was a bad choice by Scott Steiner.

Scott Steiner Warned Dixie Carter What Would Happen If She Brought Hulk Hogan In

During the latest episode of the My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett would talk about the career of The Steiner Brothers – and went into detail what had happened that caused Scott Steiner to exit Impact Wrestling (then TNA Wrestling) in 2009. It involved a discussion with Dixie Carter, about Hulk Hogan. Jarrett would be quoted saying the following.

“I was on the outs. Dixie sent me home. Scott Steiner went and had the conversation with Dixie, looked her in the face, and said, ‘Do you think you made the right decision sending Jeff home?’ It was straight up, no string attached, no frills, no political b.s. He said, ‘Dixie, we’re running a business here. Do you think you made the right decision?’ Obviously, I wasn’t there, but Scott said she couldn’t get away from him quick enough. It got uncomfortable and Scott didn’t want to be uncomfortable. He looked Dixie in the eye and said, ‘Hulk Hogan will run you out of business. He will put you out of business.

I had been sent home. The Main Event Mafia was disbanded. Hulk had come in, promised her the moon, got rid of the six-sided ring, and this and that. So it was clearly Dixie and Hulk leading the charge. Scott Steiner went up to her and said, ‘Do you think you made the right decision? We’re making money and the ratings are good.’ He understood how fragile the dynamic could be. He didn’t want to come off screaming or hollering. He said it low key.”

Hulk Hogan would kick off TNA Impact going head to head with Monday Night RAW, leading to some of the lowest ratings in company history. Hogan would leave the company in 2013, with the company in worse shape than he found it in.

Should TNA have avoided Hulk Hogan? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
