Right now, the list of wrestlers who are out of the ring due to injuries just seems to grow by the week – but few are more concerning than the neck injury to New Day member and former WWE Champion Big E. During a tag team match, a suplex gone from from Ridge Holland would see Big E land on his head and get stretchered to the back. Recent updates indicated that things aren’t healing properly, and a return to the ring might not come. However – Big E is staying positive.
Big E Tells Fans To Wait And See When It Comes To An In-Ring Return
While speaking to TMZ Sports, Big E would be asked the big question. That being, if he would ever wrestle again. He would be quoted saying the following.
“It’s really one of those ‘wait and see’ things. I really can’t say. I don’t know whether I’ll be back in March at 100% or if they’ll look at say, ‘Maybe you should be doing something else with your life.’ For me, March of next year is very far off, so I don’t want to spend a lot of time worrying and stressing about that. I’ve been with this company for 13 years. That means a lot of Saturdays and Sundays in Poughkeepsie and Kalamazoo and most random towns. But, now I get to live my life a little bit and see some friends and I’m enjoying just being human.”
He previously noted that he will be re-evaluated in March 2023, but feels tremendous.
Big E Would Be Fine If He Never Wrestled Again, Is Happy To Not Be Wheelchair Bound
As for if he’d be fine with his wrestling career being open, Big E simply knows to be content with whatever life brings you.
Yeah, I think so. Honestly, my philosophy as a human being is learning to be content with whatever life brings you. I’m so grateful to not be in a wheelchair, but if I was, I would have to adjust to life in a wheelchair. That’s just how I am programmed. If I spend hours or days or weeks kind of mourning where I’m at in life, and not being what I wanted to be, that doesn’t serve me.”
Right now, Big E will be around WWE for Summerslam – helping scouting college athletes at upcoming tryouts. Do you think he’ll wrestle again? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
