Meghan Markle had allegedly hated the comparisons between her and Kate Middleton.

That is according to Royal author Tom Bower in his book entitled ‘Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors.’
This claim is in relation to the dynamics between Meghan and the Royal family in the aftermath of her being a full-time royal following her marriage to Prince Harry.
Tom alleges that Meghan did not see eye-to-eye with Kate, much like how Meghan does not have the best of relationships with her family, including her father Thomas Markle. With that being said, it is claimed that Meghan was quite envious of Kate.
In his comments, Tom said: “The Cambridges, she believed, were failing to offer the recognition and generosity she deserved. She hated the comparisons with uncomplaining Kate.
“Effortlessly, the Cambridges appeared to be perfect. Meghan appeared to be influenced by envy of Kate.” Nevertheless, it is important to take these comments with a pinch of salt.
First of all, Meghan could arguably be within her rights to not accept comparisons between her and Kate.
After all, she is a woman in her own right, coupled with the fact that she became a self-made millionaire unlike Middleton who was born into a very wealthy family.
Secondly, this may explain why there were tensions between Meghan and Kate, which played out in the controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, as the Duchess of Sussex accused Middleton of making her cry in the run-up to her wedding.
The fans on social media did not agree entirely with Tom’s sentiments. A certain subset of people were of the view that Meghan had every right to feel aggrieved with her treatment.
One person wrote: “Press coverage comparison between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton explains exactly why H&M left. I can’t imagine living in a toxic environment 24/7.”
