It’s been quite a while since WWE fans have gotten to see Bayley in the ring. She would go down to an injury in mid-2021, injuring her leg in the Hell in a Cell match with Bianca Belair, before things escalated to an ACL tear while training before Money in the Bank. Since then, fans have been eager to see her back in the ring – and the wait might soon be over.
Bayley Will Be In Nashville For Summerslam Weekend
A news report from PWInsider would indicate that Bayley will be in Nashville for Summerslam weekend. This would indicate a high chance that she returns on the program, likely following either the RAW or Smackdown Women’s Championship matches. Bianca Belair is set to defend the RAW Women’s Championship against Carmella at the event, while Liv Morgan will defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey.
While Bayley is most associated with the Smackdown Women’s Championship, her last rival was Bianca Belair – making this situation a toss up. Either the RAW or Smackdown rosters would benefit greatly from the return of Bayley, especially following the WWE exits of both Sasha Banks & Naomi earlier this year.
Bayley really proved her skills as someone able to carry the company during the Thunderdome Era, being one of the most consistent bright spots in the shows with her heel antics. Putting her back in front of massive crowds will only help her rise further, and it’s expected it won’t be long before she’s champion once again.
Alongside Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks – Bayley is one of the ladies WWE really took a chance on when they were moving away from the divas era, with Bayley being the last to leave NXT. She’s been one of their most consistent workers since then, and thrived as both a babyface and a heel.
Bayley is a former NXT, Women’s Tag, RAW and Smackdown tag team champion – and just needs Royal Rumble & Money in the Bank victories to have a strong argument as the greatest female wrestler in WWE history.
