Prince Harry has managed to create a dream life for himself without relying on the British taxpayer.
Harry Praised For Being Truly Independent Unlike William And Kate-‘Without A Penny From The British Taxpayer, Diana Would Be So Proud Of The Man He Became’
That is according to Royal expert Omid Scobie. For all the criticism that Harry receives, he and Meghan Markle have managed to achieve what they wanted to do when they left the Royal family in 2020.
That was to create a life of independence and shield their children away from the press. This is something that is often sidestepped in and amongst the criticism they have received for their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview.
In his comments, Omid said: “Two years on—and without a penny from the British taxpayer—Prince Harry has created the life of purpose and meaning he has long dreamed about.
“A life he couldn’t have achieved if he remained a working member of The Firm.” In comparison, Prince William and Kate Middleton have managed to achieve what they have done, with the additional benefits of relying on the British taxpayer of course.
This has not always gone down very well. One such report highlighted huge criticism they had received for spending $18,000 on a hedge. Meanwhile, the couple’s $200,000 plus Caribbean tour was also questioned in light of the fact it was a PR disaster.
While this was done within the context of royal duties, such stories are not going to help their cause especially since there is a rise in anti-royal sentiment.
In this way, Harry and Meghan have managed to shield themselves away from that criticism at the very least. The fans on social media agreed with Omid’s comments.
People felt that Harry had taken a huge risk in walking away from a life of privilege to start anew. One person wrote: “It takes balls to leave a very privileged life behind and to start over.
“Diana would be so proud of the man he became, gorgeous inside and out!! His good look improves in time instead of running away.”
