Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were very lucky to secure huge deals with Netflix and Spotify.
Harry And Meghan Had Huge Slice Of Luck With Their Lucrative Netflix And Spotify Deals
That is according to blogger Perez Hilton. His claims arrive in light of the fact that the pair managed to secure a Netflix deal worth a reported $100 million.
Meanwhile, the couple’s Spotify agreement was around $30 million. But at a time where streaming services are going through major changes, it is fair to say that Harry and Meghan got a very good deal.
At the beginning of 2022, Netflix apparently lost close to 200,000 users. This is despite the fact that they had predicted to increase their subscribership by including 2.5 million members.
And at the time where the economic consequences of the pandemic have made things extremely difficult for people, coupled with the fact that there is an increasing number of platforms that can offer streaming, the competition is extremely high.
That is why Perez felt the duo got lucky. In his comments, he said: “They got very lucky in the timing of everything because if Meghan and Harry tried to get a deal like that today. I think it would be near impossible for them.
“They both were able to secure huge paychecks from Netflix and Spotify in a time when both of those brands were giving out huge paychecks.”
Despite the huge deal, the two have to deliver with their projects. And with Netflix giving the greenlight for their docuseries, there is a feeling that it must deliver. The response on social media was much the same.
This was on the grounds that royalty was no longer a popular choice for people to concern themselves with on TV.
One person wrote: “It would be near impossible because American companies have finally woken up to the fact the monarchy and royal families are lemons. Not enough sycophants around to make them profitable.”
