Prince William is desperate to follow in the footsteps of his brother Prince Harry and break into the US.
Prince William Keen On Following Harry’s Footsteps In The US Despite Disliking ‘The American Woman’ He Married
That is according to Royal expert Omid Scobie. Ever since Harry and Meghan Markle left the Royal family in 2020, they have attempted to broaden their brand by crossing over into the celebrity world.
This has resulted in major appearances on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden,’ as well as the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show.’
While that has often resulted in the couple dividing opinion over the exact nature of their role, it has nevertheless increased the talking points surrounding them.
And this is precisely the policy that William hopes to follow in order to increase his presence in America. In his comments, Omid said: “William is keen for his work to be seen and have impact outside of the UK and the ‘royal bubble.’
“The charitable landscape in America is huge and he wants to have a presence.” One way in which William will be hoping to achieve that is through the Earthshot Prize Initiative.
This event is set to be held in the US this year, with William and Kate Middleton expected to attend. The event is aimed to pay homage to those that have taken steps to ensure the protection of the environment.
But whether William can manage to make any inroads ultimately depends on his relationship with Harry. Unless they are on cordial terms, there is always a danger that the talk could turn towards their poor relationship, as opposed to the bigger issues at hand.
The fans on social media were not too keen to see William grace the US. This was on the basis that the Royal family had alienated an American, that being Meghan, which made things look in poor taste.
One person wrote: “Aren’t they so proud to be imperial british? While they hate the American woman that prince Harry married? Why does Willy boy want to go to USA?”
