Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had attempted to get better seats at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

That is according to royal author Tom Bower. This all came to the fore during the couple’s appearance at the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral.
That is when Harry and Meghan had apparently attempted to sit near the most senior royals. But as things turned out, the pair ended up sitting near Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
But that was not the original plan, though. In his comments, Tom said: “The usher apparently said to them ‘you can’t, you’re sitting in seats eight or nine’ or whatever it was and Harry said ‘why?’
“And the usher said ‘that’s what your grandmother ordered’. I’m told that from a military man.” This may explain why the couple decided to skip the lunch, the palace party and Jubilee Pageant by making a hasty exit.
After all, this would have indicated that they were not necessarily viewed in high regard, even if they were not royals any more. And yet, it is not often that Harry and Meghan would be attending the UK.
But the chances of making any exceptions for them were not possible. And these sentiments were echoed by another royal expert Katie Nicholl.
In her comments, she remarked: “They left because they weren’t in the front row. I believe that’s why they weren’t at the other celebrations as they did not have centre stage seats.”
The fans on social media had a lot to say on the matter. They were of the view that the pair’s chances of getting a prominent seat were very slim. One person wrote: “They left to be put [out] of the limelight you can’t have it both ways.”
The Jubilee clearly showed that Harry and Meghan were distant from the royals. Unless something changes, then this is going to continue going forward.
