That is according to royal author Tom Bower. This claim would fit in line with the allegations that Harry and Meghan had apparently hooked up a microphone during their appearance at the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ during the Platinum Jubilee.
Not only that, but the monarch had banned Harry and Meghan from taking pictures of her meeting with Lilibet, with some suggesting that the pictures could have been leaked for publicity.
With that being said, Tom did not hold back on the couple’s motives. In an interview on the Palace Confidential on Mailplus show, he said: “They’re burning out their royal status pretty fast now.
“I think they’ll, in the end, have to give that up because it won’t wash well. They can only do so by being sensational and by doing something.”
“They are constantly searching for new things to do. But it always comes back to the royals.” This approach is something that can no longer be sustained for the following reasons.
First of all, Tom alleged that it is only a matter of time before their links to the Royal family dwindle down. We have already seen this when the couple were given their seating at the ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ away from the senior royals.
Secondly, reports emerged that the monarch will not be inviting the pair to Balmoral this year. That is why the duo cannot benefit from the royals much longer. Tom added: “It is dumping on the Royal Family in Harry’s forthcoming book.
“But eventually, it is going to be a damp squib.” Ultimately, if Harry and Meghan fail to reconcile with the royals, then they will have to have their own credible brand in place.
