Joe Rogan is the host of the most popular podcast in the world. As such, he has his opinion on many topics. Recently he weighs in on the Brittney Griner story.
The Brittney Garner case became breaking news. It is almost as if she is a celebrity now because of the marijuana case more than because of her WNBA career. Through the whirlwind of happenings surrounding the case, much of the public has already formed an opinion on that whether it is ‘worth’ fighting for her release.
Joe Rogan Says That People Care For Brittney Griner Only Because She ‘Can Throw A F***ing Ball Into A Net’
The main pivotal point drifting people further from siding with Brittney is that at the moment, there are thousands of prisoners in the USA that are in prison for the exact same reason as her. Rogan is obviously one of them.
“People are freaking about this, right.” – Rogan refers to the Brittney Griner situation. “Russia needs to let her go. We have people in America locked up for marijuana and they’ve been locked up for f**king years.”
“For years and years and years, and there’s not one – there’s thousands of them.” – he compares the situation. “So, what they’re not good at throwing a f**king ball into a net? Is that what it is? They’re not good at that one thing we like to watch? So, those f**king people don’t get let out.”
Joe Rogan is a person that is pro-marijuana use, or pro-drug use for that matter. We can occasionally see him hosting his podcast while enjoying some blunt. He often shares the joints with his guests.
One of the most famous marijuana-smoking episodes of the podcast is the one where he and Elon Musk share a joint while speaking about rocketships, electric vehicles, and tunnels. Elon Musk is the world’s wealthiest man, and seeing him smoking marijuana created a giant wave of public reaction.
While Rogan is advocating for the release of all prisoners that are doing time for marijuana, he is supporting Brittney Griner as well. Earlier this year, when the Brittney Griner case emerged, he advocated for her immediate release.
“This is some really horrible s*it.” – Rogan said about Griner’s arrest. “I hope we can make some sort of a deal to get her out. And I hope this makes us look at our own policies here in America. Thousands of people are in jail for cannabis right now.”
Brittney Garner is receiving support from all over the world. However, despite all this, the Russian court sentenced her to nine years in prison in Russia.
The US government is making efforts to ‘swap’ prisoners with Russia, so she can return home.
