Noam Dar has been a figure in WWE for several years. The Scottish Supernova made his debut as part of the Cruiserweight Classic. He would sign with the company as part of their new crusierweight division. He was part of the most memorable feud in the early days of 205 Live, that revolving around the beautiful Alicia Fox. Dar has also maintained a strong presence in NXT UK, where he would have some fantastic matches with the likes of Trent Seven & Travis Banks.
Despite all this, he is not someone who will be viewed as a star in WWE. This is different on a smaller stage. He has been a fixture of the Scotland based Insane Championship Wrestling for many years. ICW is linked to WWE in a similar way to Evolve or Progress Wrestling, Dar is able to show up there as well. At last nights ‘The Ninth Annual Square Go!‘ event, Noam Dar would win their top prize for the first time after beating Stevie Boy to win the ICW Heavyweight Championship. Previous holders WWE fans will recognize include Drew McInytre and Joe Coffey.
Will Noam Dar Bring This Belt To NXT UK?
ICW is a partner to NXT UK, and they could have Noam Dar defend the ICW Heavyweight Championship on NXT UK events. Dar as a cocky heel could even claim to the be the real champion of the brand, and mock WALTER with this. He is someone with the charisma to pull off a gimmick like this, and would allow for some extra promotion of ICW.
This would allow Noam Dar to be presented as a star to WWE fans. This could help make him a more believable threat.
Will ICW Come To The WWE Network?
There have been many whispers about partner companies like ICW & Progress making their way to the WWE Network as part of a higher subscription tier. This has never really come to fruition. With one of the stars of NXT UK as the top champion of ICW, it seems like as good a time as any to bring them onboard. This deal would give much more content to wrestling fans.
