One thing is pretty obvious. Conor McGregor is not a fan of the Nigerian Nightmare. He doesn’t like Kamaru Usman, and he is not afraid to make it public. After Usman’s most recent fight at the UFC 278, Conor McGregor proves that he is not so fond of him by mocking the ex-welterweight champion on Twitter.
Conor McGregor mocked his ‘colleague’ by simply sharing a ‘laughing’ tweet about it. Moments after Leon Edwards delivered that brutal head kick to Usman, McGregor is fast to comment on it and ‘laugh his a** off’.
Conor McGregor Mocks Kamaru Usman After Being Knocked Out By Leon Edwards
After the laughing post, he did another one, including a photo of Usman’s face after he received the brutal knockout. “I don’t like the guy not sleeping with his men, hahahahaha.” – Conor wrote below the photo.
Understandably, Conor now sides with Leon Edwards. He even congratulated the newly crowned champion and shared his amazement with Edward’s skills. Furthermore, he points out that he is extremely happy to see a knockout delivered at the last minute of the final round.
Kamaru Usman on the other side showed great sportsmanship after the fight and confessed that he did some mistakes for which he dearly paid. He confirms that the better fighter won and promised his fans that he will be back to take his revenge as soon as possible.
“Champs f$ck up sometimes… but we bounce back and come with vengeance!!” – Usman wrote on Twitter and received more than 120k likes and re-tweets on the post.
Seems like the happiest of all about this turn of events is the UFC president Dana White. Even though he is a huge Kamaru Usman fan, he confirmed that he is eager to arrange a trilogy fight between the two. A match that will finally decide who is the better fighter. The UFC President is eyeballing a UFC event in the UK. Possibly at Wembley, as he expects the popularity of such an event to be over the top.
As for Kamaru Usman, this was his first loss since 2013. Furthermore, this is the first time that the Nigerian Nightmare receives a KO in the octagon. Until now he has been unbeaten and has suffered no KO losses.
Leon Edwards on the other hand, even though very satisfied with the result of the fight, says that he is disappointed in his own performance in the octagon. He considers this to be one of his worst appearances. And that is why he is ready for a trilogy fight as soon as possible. He wants to prove to the world once more that he can be even better.
“Going into it, I knew it was going to be a tough fight. I said it all week. But I believe I was the better man. But even though it was one of my worst performances, it is what it is, I got a clean finish. My body just wasn’t reacting the way it was meant to react. I was like, ‘Why is everyone getting tired?’ When I went out there after the first round I felt it. My body just wasn’t reacting.” – Leon says at the UFC 278 post-fight conference.
Conor McGregor is now more likely to meet with Kamaru Usman in the octagon. The UFC did not comply to give Conor a title shot directly. Usman is a perfect match for him now.
