Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor took a break from relentlessly Tweeting to appear at the Anthony Joshua fight over the weekend. McGregor entered the boxing ring after spending a few hours drinking, took to the mic, and decided to call out influencer-boxer KSI for a bareknuckle match.
“I know your man KSI is in the crowd yeah and he couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg-boxing factory, so if he wants to get in here I’ll give him a fight, you know, bareknuckle, if you want.”
Visibly Intoxicated Conor McGregor Calls Out KSI For Bareknuckle Boxing Match
KSI quickly Tweeted: “Lmao just seen this. Jake Paul must be crying that I’ve got Connor on my d*ck already and I didn’t even have to fight an mma fighter”
First, Conor McGregor is expected to fight Michael Chandler at the end of this season of The Ultimate Fighter. No date has yet been announced. McGregor has yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool. Generally, USADA regulations require fighters to undergo at least six months of testing before they are allowed to compete.
The option to offer a USADA waiver does exist, and the UFC has exercised this option just once, allowing Brock Lesanr to fight Mark Hunt. Lesnar later tested positive for banned substances.
McGregor, recently talking to TalkSport, reiterated that he plans on fighting Michael Chandler this December. “December – [Michael] Chandler, I have to do it.
I’ve just got to grab him by the chest [and smack him]. That’s what I’ve got to do.” McGregor has also repeatedly expressed interest in fighting Justin Gaethje ever since “The Highlight” took out Dustin Poirier to earn the UFC’s “BMF” belt.
McGregor is now declaring that he has plans for his next three fights: “Chandler next in December and then [Justin] Gaethje, BMF and then we’ll do the Nate [Diaz] trilogy.”
McGregor vs Diaz 3 is a long-awaited fight for fans of both men. Nate Diaz handed Conor McGregor his first ever UFC loss with a second-round rear naked choke submission. McGregor went on to win the second fight via majority decision five months later, leaving the two 1-1.
Nate Diaz has since parted ways with the UFC, trying his hand at influencer boxing, making his debut against Jake Paul a few weeks ago.
McGregor’s next move remains unclear, as it has since he sustained a brutal broken leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. McGregor appears to have fully recovered, but has not competed in over two years, and has not won a fight since early 2020.
