Right now, we’re seeing the starting stages of another faction on the All Elite Wrestling roster. The Trust Busters only formed recently, and has already recruited it’s first new member, with Ari Daivari adding Sonny Kiss to the ranks alongside indy veteran Slim J and developmental project Parker Boudreaux. Tony Khan is standing firm in his choice to push them, citing The Acclaimed & Daniel Garcia as acts that came into AEW with some fan backlash due to their pushes, and now has added another member to the group.
Ari Daivari Brings A Trust Butler To The Trust Busters
During today’s AEW Dark tapings, we’d see The Trust Busters in action, with Daivari, Slim J & Parker getting a trios win, and Sonny Kiss getting a singles win. During this, they’d have a butler joining them at ringside – identified as VSK. Now going by Jeeves Kay according to Tony Khan on Twitter – he’s joining the faction as their Trust Butler.
Every faction needs people to take pins, and Jeeves could be just that, allowing Khan to protect the bigger name members of the group. However, expect VSK to break out in the ring before long, being a highly talented wrestler in his own right. Some fans might recognize him as running with Matt Cardona in the NWA.
Haven’t We Seen This Gimmick Before?
This oddly enough, is not the first time we’ve seen a butler gimmick in AEW. During the early days of Miro’s run in AEW – he’d win a match against Chuck Taylor to force him into the role of Butler. This was when Miro was working alongside Kip Sabian as “The Best Man’, before he’d break loose and claim the TNT Champion, kicking off a critically acclaimed run as ‘The Redeemer’.
While Miro having a butler simply didn’t work, Ari Daivari is a smarter choice for this type of gimmick. His whole deal is being a rich boy throwing money around, building a faction with the likes of Parker, Slim J & Kiss. Hiring someone like VSK from the depths of AEW Dark makes perfect sense – and allows for VSK to get more TV time.
