AEW Dynamite continues after Christopher Daniels ran off the Dark Order in that last segment! We now have Britt Baker taking on Yuka Sakazaki! It’s Yuka’s first match in All Elite Wrestling since Fyter Fest, AEW Dynamite debut!
Britt Baker vs. Yuka Sakazaki
“Baker Sucks” chant as Yuka tries a side headlock but it’s turned into a wristlock. Yuka flips with the aid of the bottom rope to reverse the wristlock. Baker re-takes control and slams her head against the top buckle, Baker chokes her against the ropes as the crowd gets on her case. Running Facewash! Pulls her out for a cover, kickout at 2. Yuka takes the advantage, off the top rope with a crossbody! Baker bails, Magical Girl Splash off the top rope to the floor wipes Baker out! Takes her into the ring as the crowd chants for Yuka! Snapmare, sliding lariato nailed her for a nearfall!
Exchange of forearms, Yuka wins out, discus elbow! Hits the ropes, Baker with a superkick to stop her! Hits the Swinging Fisherman’s Neckbreaker for a nearfall, but Baker turns this right into a Lockjaw attempt! Yuka struggles, Brit with a pull of the hair, Yuka escapes and reverses the hold into a cradle for the surprise flash win!
Winner: Yuka Sakazaki
Yuka celebrates her upset win! But Baker out of the ring, grabs the ring bell! Crowd is pleading for her not to do it but she slams the bell right into Yuka’s back! Aubrey Edwards pulls the bell away before she can do more, but as she puts the bell away, Britt forces Yuka to bite down on the bottom rope, stomps on her head!
As Britt backs away, we see Yuka favoring her mouth. She’s bleeding from her lips and we see teeth fall down onto her hands! Almost definitely fake but certainly a great effect. Baker pulls Yuka to the corner and puts her in the Lockjaw, torturing the broken mouth! Damn that made Baker look vile, chant of “You Got Pinned” as the crowd is not happy with her and Baker is smiling like a deviant.
I didn’t expect that upset at all, but it makes sense in motivating her to go even deeper into this villany and it was sure effective. Does seem like she’ll probably have to wait a little while before going after Riho though.
