Prince Harry destroyed any form of trust with Prince William by going ahead with his Oprah Winfrey interview.
Prince Harry Destroyed Any Trust He Had With William By Going On Oprah-‘Meghan And Harry Have Demonstrated That They Are No Longer Willing To Be Traditionally Discreet,’ Says Royal Expert Jennie Bond
That is according to royal expert Jennie Bond. It is no secret that the Oprah interview worsened relations between Harry and the royals, as a series of controversial statements were made without the firm being given a right to reply.
The comments concerning reservations about Archie’s skin colour, as well as Meghan’s alleged suicidal thoughts were seen as a huge breach of trust as they were made publicly.
Much in the same way, Harry’s upcoming memoir has allegedly been kept rather private and away from the royals to the point where they have not been given a manuscript.
With that being said, William would have every right to feel aggrieved and keep his distance from Harry, knowing that his brother could disclose something damaging once again.
In her comments, Jennie said: “I think the problem with Harry writing his account of his life is that it has eroded trust.
“Really, there is very little trust after the Oprah interview, particularly between William and Harry and other members of the royal family. They don’t know what bombshell is going to come next.”

Therefore, the only way Harry could release his memoir and rebuild some trust is to show the royals in a positive light. However, as the memoir promises to be an unfiltered account given that Harry is no longer at the behest of the royals, this is unlikely to happen.
This begs the question: will Harry risk the wrath of his family by revealing some sensitive information once again, or will he provide an explanation for his actions in the Oprah interview in the hope that this could repair some of the damage that has been done?
It is something that does need pondering, but as of now, there is no trust. Jennie’s following comments confirmed as much: “Trust is something that is very important in royal circles, there aren’t very many people they can trust.
“Discretion is everything and both Meghan and Harry have demonstrated that they are no longer willing to be traditionally discreet about what goes on behind Palace walls.”
