Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are saving animals by adopting a beagle that was rescued from a test laboratory.
Harry And Meghan Saving Dogs As Sussexes Adopt A Beagle Named Momma Mia
According to reports, the dog has been named Momma Mia which just so happens to be one of 4,000 dogs that were taken in by the authorities.
This is in response to claims that a lab was shut down after breaking several animal-welfare regulations. The laboratory in question, The Envigo plant,’ was deemed to have kept the dogs in inappropriate conditions.
As a result, many dogs were malnourished and kept in cages. Not only that, but it is also claimed that over 300 puppies died last year.
Shannon Keith, who happens to be an attorney running the Beagle Freedom Project, had this to say: “She calls on my cell with no Caller ID and says, ‘Hey Shannon, this is Meghan.
“We’re adopting her. She was like, ‘No, we don’t want a Christmas puppy … We want ones we can help, who are older.” This is not the first time that the Duchess of Sussex has shown her love for animals.
When she was residing in the UK with Harry, Meghan had allegedly brought her dog called Guy. The dog just so happens to me a beagle too, which makes the current gesture all the more understandable.
And it is not surprising then that Momma Mia will be joining Guy with the Sussexes in Santa Barbara. The fans on social media, however, began to troll the Sussexes.
And in the process of doing so, they expressed sympathy for the dog. One person wrote: “Poor beagle,” while another person stated: “Have they been checked for flesh-eating fleas?”
Regardless of what you think about Harry and Meghan, this is a positive thing that they are doing. And if it can lead to more dogs living in a stable environment, then that can only be a good thing.
And that is the most important thing to remember going forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
