This past weekend saw the Impact Wrestling deals of Good Brothers (Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson) come to an end. They dropped the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championships to Matt Taven & Mike Bennett on the way out, and are moving on in their careers. Right now, it seems they’re set to try and rule Japan again – but almost found their way back in WWE.

Good BrothersTurned Down WWE After Being Burned In 2020

A report from PWInsider would indicate that Vince McMahon had plans to bring the Good Brothers back to WWE. There were talks between the two parties, back before Vince McMahon would retire and Triple H took over. Seemingly, things died down due to them previously being burned by WWE – having been released shortly after WrestleMania in 2020 due to ‘budget cuts’.

Had they returned to WWE, they likely would have been re-aligned with AJ Styles in The Club or joined Finn Balor as members of Judgement Day. BULLET CLUB roots still run deep in the WWE roster, and Gallows & Anderson are two iconic figures to help WWE get some of the credibility of that faction. In WWE, Gallows & Anderson held both the Smackdown & RAW Tag Team Championships,

Going Back To Ruling NJPW

Right now, they’re headed back to Japan – as Karl Anderson is set to defend the NEVER Openweight Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi. Anderson won the belt back at Dominion, defeating former BULLET CLUB member Tama Tonga. Many expected Anderson to be in the field of the G1 Climax, given his status as champion – but instead the Good Brothers would finish up in Impact Wrestling.

They made their returns to Japan for the final nights of G1 Climax action, where Tanahashi pinned Anderson in a tag team match. There was some smoke regarding Tanahashi & Toru Yano challenging for the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championships as well, but with The OGK as champions? That is unlikely to happen.

Good Brothers are going to be a force to be reckoned with back in Japan, and could even look to finish up their in-ring careers in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where they really built the legacy that carried them to success. Would you have wanted to see them return to WWE? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
