The moment when Jeff Hardy showed up in AEW was one of the best feel good moments of the year. After a few years apart, Matt & Jeff were back together – and set for one final run as a tag team. However, in an all too familiar tale, Jeff Hardy found himself with a DUI. He’d be pulled from the ring, and sent to rehab – with Matt Hardy remaining around in AEW. He would offer updates, and is now claiming that we can expect the ‘new’ Jeff Hardy in AEW very soon.
Matt Hardy Hypes Up The Return Of Jeff Hardy In AEW
During The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast with Wardlow as a guest, they would discuss the potential of making a trio out of Wardlow & The Hardy Boyz. Wardlow views Matt & Jeff as childhood heroes, and spoke on how they helped him through depression in his life – which can be read about here. Matt Hardy would speak about teaming with Wardlow, and hyped up the return of Jeff Hardy.
“Teaming with Wardlow sounds great. I’m pretty excited. We’re getting close to the point where we meet the new Jeff and we figure out his future and what he ends up doing. I’m pretty excited because I feel like his mentality is like — he knows he has to make some changes and do what’s right. I feel like he’s at a point where he will this time around. I’m excited to have him back and I think this would be amazing. It’d be so much fun.”
Jeff Was Mentioned In Passing On The Latest Episode Of AEW Dynamite
Ahead of Matt Hardy facing Darby Allin on AEW Rampage tomorrow evening, Jeff Hardy was shown and mentioned in the video package, which was the most we’ve seen of him since his DUI would see him completely removed from AEW programming. We can only hope that this is the last time Jeff Hardy will fall into these issues – and that fans can just enjoy one final run from this legendary tag team.
