Meghan Markle reportedly refused to take advice from Queen Consort Camilla when she first arrived in the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle Allegedly Refused To Take Advice From Queen Consort Camilla When She Joined The Firm-Says Royal Expert Angela Levin
That is according to royal author Angela Levin in her book entitled: ‘Duchess of Cornwall: A Royal Survivor.’ This claim centres around the parallels that were there between Meghan and Camilla.
It is claimed that Queen Consort Camilla understood the difficulties that could emerge in trying to settle in the Royal Family.
After all, Camilla was hardly a popular member herself following her cheating scandal involving the current monarch, King Charles III, when he was married to the late Princess Diana.
But any chances of Meghan taking some advice appeared non-existent, despite Camilla being fond of Meghan. In her book, Angela quotes a source who stated the following: “She doesn’t want to see anyone struggling and she is fond of Meghan.”
Nevertheless, those comments have to be read in light of the following factors. First of all, Meghan has made it very clear since her exit from the firm that she was not given a voice.
Therefore, there could have been tension between following royal and the Duchess of Sussex doing what she wanted to do.
Secondly, other reports stated Prince Harry wanted to use a mediator to resolve the rift with the royals which was knocked back by Camilla.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl quoted a source that said: “[Harry] actually suggested that they use a mediator to try and sort things out, which had Charles somewhat bemused and Camilla spluttering into her tea.”
The fans on social media had a lot to say about the matter. A certain subset of people felt that Meghan was entirely justified in not taking any advice from Camilla since she hardly covered herself in glory.
One person wrote: “Can’t say I blame her. Taking advice from someone who stole someone’s husband.” It is safe to say that Meghan and Camilla were not on good terms.
