Powerhouse Hobbs made quick work of a weakened Ricky Starks at All Out – but he didn’t keep Starks down. That mistake leads to tonight, as the lights go out and AEW doesn’t accept responsibility for what these former friends do to each other. It’s time for a Lights Out match, the perfect violent way to solve an issue like this between Starks & Hobbs.
Hobbs was glad to see the Starks that fought Darby Allin, that fought Sting – but the same Starks that he beat in four minutes. Starks would say he’s better than a four minute match, and while that was a career highlight for Hobbs – tonight Starks will close the book of Hobbs. But that’s enough talk – it’s time for the main event!
Instant Violence In Lights Out Match
These two waste no time trading blows in the middle of the ring, before Starks got the Thesz Press. They’d head to the floor, where Hobbs tried to send Starks into the corner. Instead, Starks slipped through the ropes and came back with a lariat.
Roshambo would be blocked in the ring, and Hobbs would hit a neckbreaker in response. Hobbs would get a table and chair into the ring, with Starks still recovering. The belt of Justin Roberts was stolen and used to whip the back of Starks. Starks would disarm him, and swing for the back of Hobbs.
Back in the ring, Hobbs would hit the Sky High – more damage to the neck. Hobbs would hit the run of the powerslam into a steel chair, before Starks blocked and shoved Hobbs into a chair. Swinging DDT would get a two count, before Hobbs would hit a low blow. Starks responded with one of his own, before setting up two chairs back to back.
Ricky Starks Claims The Win
Roshambo was the plan, but Hobbs blocked into a back body drop – with Starks landing back first on the chair. Hobbs would pile the chairs, before a running powerslam for a two count. This one would head up to the stage, with Starks ran right into the light fixture. Hobbs would yank a Fixture off, and look to wield it like a back.
Starks would try to crawl away, with this looking more like a slasher movie than a match. Hobbs swung and missed in the ring, and Starks would spear him through the table leaned into the corner. Starkl smacked Hobbs in the head, and nailed Roshambo for the win.
