This claim centres around the notion that Meghan was not going to hang around unless Harry made his relationship with the Duchess of Sussex public. After all, that would have gone some way to showing the public that he was very serious about her.
While that may have been the case, it is understandable if he had reservations about coming out publicly. There would have to be serious considerations over the presence of paparazzi, as well as knowing that he would be thrust further in the public limelight.
Author Valentine Low in his book entitled, ‘Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, recalls the ultimatum that Meghan apparently gave Harry.
He wrote: “She was saying, “If you don’t put out a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you. Harry was in a panic…He was freaking out, saying, “She’s going to dump me.”
It is not exactly clear if this expedited things between Harry and Meghan, but one thing for sure is that the couple’s relationship has been a constant talking-point.
This has not been helped by the duo’s poor relations with the royals, which has led their critics to suggest that Harry is no longer as content as he had been before.
The fans on social media were very critical over the manner that Meghan came across. A certain subset of people were of the view that the Duchess of Sussex had a detrimental impact on Harry, with some even suggesting that a divorce could be a possibility.
One person wrote: “She is [the] worst thing to happen harr handbag…The divorce will happen.” The dangers about going public with anything is that it can be used against you.
