After his triumphant return to NXT last week, Ilja Dragunov would open up the show. He had to give up the NXT UK Championship in the middle of a dominant reign, and has stepped right up to the man who unified that belt with the NXT Championship. Tonight, he opens the show with a promo – letting us know what to expect from him.

Bron Breakker Does Some Math To Decide We Need A Triple Threat

Dragunov would compare his reign in NXT UK which started with slaying GUNTHER to a gladiator in the arena. However, while this might have been cut short – he’s rose from the ashes. He is a man who loves the pain that he feels in the ring, and now has a new target in Bron Breakker.

JD McDonagh would come to the ring, and said that while Dragunov would send McDonagh from NXT UK – it was their match that put him on the path to injury. McDonagh would threaten to put him back on the sideline, he will do it – and end his career in the process. Tensions would flare, and Bron Breakker would hit the ringside area.

Breakker expected Dragunov with everything happening, and expressed some respect for him. However – the NXT Championship is not going anywhere. McDonagh would try to decline the crowd asking for a triple threat, instead wanting to see Breakker & Dragunov destroy each other before he gets his shot.

However, Breakker would do some maths. McDonagh is the number one contender, Dragunov never lost his belt. If his maths are correct, and it always is – they both have a 33 and a third chance of winning, and officially called for a triple threat at Halloween Havoc.

Mandy Rose Needs To Cut Down Some Challengers

Mandy Rose remains the NXT Women’s Champion – and recently was able to unify the NXT UK Championship with it. Now, she has Fallon Henley nipping at her heels, wanting a title shot – and Alba Fyre looming with a challenge of her own. Tonight, Rose will be looking to shut down Henley, while Henley looks to win the biggest match of her young career.

Henley would nail a shoulder tackle to begin this match, before being taken to the mat and hit with a dropkick to the face. She was able to kick out and hit a dropkick of her own, setting Rose up on the bottom rope. Henley would slide to the outside and hit a stiff forearm smash, before looking for a crossbody in the ring.

Rose would catch Henley with a Fallaway Slam, before a shoulder tackle into the corner. Henley would hang on in the ring, before Rose would go after the arm before locking in the Cobra Twist in the middle of the ring. Rose would be tossed with a hip toss as Henley broke free, before taking a short arm lariat.

Rushing elbow to the face would follow, before a modified bulldog for a two count. The DDT would be blocked, and Rose would nail Kissed By The Rose for the victory. After the match, she’d call Alba Fyre out – saying she’s just jealous that Rose was able to unify the NXT & NXT UK titles. Fyre was unphased, and simply lit a message on fire in the parking lot saying “And New”.

Will Alba Fyre win the NXT Women’s Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
