Harry And Meghan Demoted On Royal Family Website With Only Prince Andrew Below Them
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no longer working royals, something which has been reinforced by this latest move. Prior to the changes, the pair were seen just below the senior members of the Royal Family.
They did happen to be above the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, who are all minor royals.
The new changes, however, have seen Harry and Meghan move towards the bottom end of the website with only Prince Andrew below them. This is very significant for the following reasons.
First of all, it demonstrates King Charles III’s vision of having a more slimmed down version of the monarchy. And this was made evidently clear during his first speech to the nation in which he wished the Sussexes the best with their lives ‘overseas.’
Secondly, it also makes clear just how far from grace Harry and Meghan have fallen. Their well-documented criticism of the Royal Family, as indicated in their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, has now been met with a firm response.
Lastly, in any event, it proves that the reconciliation between the Sussexes and the royals was merely done in order to show public unity following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
With that being said, the fans on social media were not surprised by this move. A significant proportion of fans recognised that Harry and Meghan no longer wanted to be a part of the firm.
Therefore, they had to accept the consequences that came with that including this. One person wrote: “They wanted out. They should be removed and out.
“They want out but use @RoyalFamily to sell books, interviews, podcasts and Netflix. What happened to ooh we want privacy.”
