Meghan Didn’t Understand The Difference Between Being A Celebrity And A Part Of The Royal Family-Says Royal Expert Duncan Larcombe
That is according to royal expert Duncan Larcombe. Prior to entering into the firm, Meghan’s biggest claim to fame was being a cable TV actress on Suits.
While she did manage to be a self-made millionaire, her time in the Royal Family was very short. In the aftermath of her departure, she spoke about how ambition was only viewed negatively once she began dating Prince Harry.
But by the looks of it, Meghan failed to anticipate just how difficult the transition was going to be from Hollywood life to royalty.
In his comments, Duncan said: “Meghan basically didn’t ever get straight in her mind the difference between being on the red carpet as a celebrity and the red carpet as a royal, and she just didn’t understand the incredibly important distinction.”
This may explain why Meghan has reverted to what she knows best since her exit. She has appeared in major interviews including her Oprah Winfrey one, as well as making an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
In addition, Duncan expanded on how perhaps Harry did not do his best in order to communicate to his wife what she would expect.
And as part of that process, Duncan drew some parallels with the late Princess Diana’s struggles in adjusting to royal life. His following comments confirmed as much: “I’ve seen it, and we saw it all the way back from Diana.
“We’ve seen it time and time again with people that marry into the royal family…When you’re on the red carpet as a royal, it’s about the people you’re coming to meet, you’re doing it out of duty.”
