That is according to royal expert Katie Nicholl in her book entitled, ‘Harry: Life, Loss, and Love.’ This is a far cry from where the relations are now between the Sussexes and Kate, as the pair live completely different lives separated across the pond.
But at one moment, Kate was very close with Harry. It is claimed that as William and Kate were having their wedding meal, Harry took the microphone to deliver a moving speech.
In her book, Katie wrote: “Famous for his mimicry, Harry then impersonated his brother calling Kate ‘Babykins’, to much laughter from the guests.
“When he said the couple’s decade-long romance was his inspiration, there was a shy smile from Chelsy, while Kate shed a tear.” The wedding was a huge spectacle with around 1,900 people attending at Westminster Abbey.
In addition, it was one of the major milestones that the late Queen Elizabeth II had managed to oversee during her reign as the longest serving British monarch in history.
This has naturally left all royal fans wondering whether they can ever expect to see Harry being as close as he once was with the firm.
After all, William had allegedly returned the favour during Harry’s wedding with Meghan Markle. It is claimed that William made jokes about “wet knickers” for his best man speech, while also apparently tying a ladder at the back of Harry’s wedding car.
The fans on social media could not help but reminisce about the good times between Kate and Harry. And it left people disappointed with how things had become now.
One person wrote: “He always said Catherine was the sister he never had.” Moving forward, who knows if the two can ever be close once again.
