Royal Expert Tom Bower has rejected claims that King Charles III’s coronation date has been chosen to shade Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Tom Bower Denies Claim That King Charles III Shaded The Sussexes With Coronation Date
According to reports, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the official ceremony for the Coronation will take place on Saturday, 6th May 2023. The event is designed to mark the official inauguration of the monarch.
And yet, what many people will not know is that this date just so happens to coincide with the Sussexes son Archie’s fourth birthday.
Therefore, this led to some suggestions that it was all being done in order to minimise the influence of the Sussexes, thus disrespecting them in the process.
One person wrote: “Unbelievable!! There are 365 Days in the year! Why? Just why,” while another person stated: “This will just rob us of his 4th bday pic or delay it.
“Just like Princess lily’s bday during jubly. Anything to ride the Sussex coattails!!” Outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, those comments hold some weight.
First of all, what are the actual chances of the Coronation and Archie’s birthday being on the same date. As such, the implication is that this was done in a calculating manner to take the media spotlight away from Harry and Meghan.
Secondly, it will once again reinforce the notion that the Sussexes are not on good terms with the royals. After all, King Charles made it absolutely clear in his first speech to the nation that he wished the duo all the best with their lives ‘overseas.’
Despite this being the case, Bower has denied that there was anything malicious. In an interview with Page Six, Bower said the following: “Archie’s birthday was the last thing they thought about.
“It’s just before the state opening of Parliament and Charles will want to appear as King with his crown…They didn’t look at what was happening in Montecito. The idea that anyone was concerned with that is nonsense.”
