Lately, there has been a lot of excitement in WWE. A wide array of released WWE stars would return, including Braun Strowman, Bray Wyatt, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Johnny Gargano, Dakota Kai, and Candice LeRae. LeRae was one that especially came out of left field, with zero rumours or speculation leading up to her surprise return.
Candice LeRae Helping Johnny Gargano Prepare For In-Ring Return Brought Her Back Into WWE
Alongside her husband Johnny Gargano – LeRae was one of the biggest surprises from the fans of WWE. Their returns were also linked, as helping Gargano prepare to return to the ring would put the wheels in motion for LeRae to return to the ring. Speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, LeRae was asked when she knew she would be returning to WWE.
“Johnny and I both knew for sure about a week before he debuted. I knew for a while. Keeping it a secret was very very difficult. We really, in this day in age with so much social media and so many things leaking, and trying to keep that a secret was difficult. Him being a secret was a little harder. Me being a secret was easy but hard because I was going with him to train as his training buddy, but it was just, ‘I’m just training with him.’ Then people weren’t expecting me to be ready to come back so soon. Not even Triple H was. When we said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ He was like, Oh, okay.’ Everyone was surprised. I’m glad that, in this day and age, we were able to be genuine surprises,.
LeRae would defeat Nikki A.S.H in her return match, and has since faced Dakota Kai & Bayley. Long term plans remain unclear, but it seems likely that she could be a challenger for Binaca Belair and the RAW Women’s Championship before long. LeRae gave birth to Quill Gargano on February 17th, 2022 – which led many to not expect her back into the ring until 2023 at the soonest.
