WWE Friday Night SmackDown rolls on following that eight man tag team opener. We’ll be hearing from Lacey Evans in a sit-down interview later tonight. Backstage, Drew Gulak confronts Daniel Bryan and talks about holes he’s found in his game. Bryan of course finds this ridiculous. Gulak mentions recent matches of his that he’s seen, including the squash match over Heath Slater. Slater overhears this and runs Bryan down for taking him on when he wasn’t ready. Bryan asks if he’s ready now and Slater replies that he’s always ready. They agree to have a match and Bryan suggests that Gulak help Slater out.
We then see a video package of Otis Dozovic and Mandy Rose’s saga. Tucker confronts Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, mad about what happened last week, inviting Dolph Ziggler to her date with him. Mandy says Otis simply showed up late and Tucker asks why she sent a text that she was running late. She seems confused about this. Tucker says that Otis is the sweetest man he knows and he deserves better. Otis always sees the best in everyone but he was wrong to think best of her.
Renee Young is backstage with Lacey Evans to talk about her issues with Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Renee points out that Lacey was, herself, a bit of a bully when she first came around to WWE, calling everyone nasties. Lacey admits that this is true, and she didn’t realize this until she came to SmackDown and saw how they were treating people. Says that she knows losing to Bayley at the Royal Rumble sends her to the back of the line, but she’ll do what she has to do to get back into the running. For the first time it’s mentioned that there’s a Women’s elimination chamber match for SmackDown as well, says she’ll beat the other five women there to get her chance at WrestleMania.
Finally, out come Sami Zayn with his boys Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro, the nameless group is about to face off with Braun Strowman and Elias in a Symphony of Destruction tag team match. In other words, a hardcore match where all the weapons are music-themed. The only thing I really noticed on first glance was a big piano they have at ringside, I believe there were also a saxophone. That match is next.
