According to reports, the date for the Coronation has been confirmed as Saturday, 6th May 2023. Prince William and Kate Middleton will be attending, which has left question marks over whether the Sussexes will join them.
This is particularly since the date just so happens to coincide with what will be their son Archie’s 4th birthday. Therefore, there are obvious question marks over whether the couple would want to skip that for the Coronation, or decide to go ahead with the birthday instead.
But if Camilla does end up getting what she wants, then the Sussexes could attend. According to OK magazine: “If Queen Consort Camilla has her way, Harry and Meghan will be at the coronation in hopes of healing the continually fractured family dynamics between the Sussexes and the rest of the family.”
This begs the question: what are the chances of the Sussexes skipping the birthday for this? Well, reports have suggested that Harry will not attend the Coronation if it is to be held at Westminster Abbey.
This is on the basis that this was the place where his mother Princess Diana’s funeral took place. And given that this is where the Coronation has been confirmed as going ahead, it puts his appearance in doubt.
In addition, there is also the possibility that Harry still has resentment over Camilla’s affair with his father which ultimately led to the divorce with Diana. The fans on social media were outraged by this claim.
A significant proportion of the fan base bashed Camilla on the grounds that she had no right to demand this following her behaviour.
One person wrote: “She should have not tormented Harry’s mother when she was a teenager up until her death. How do you expect Harry to sit in the audience and watch these two despicable people get crowned.”
