Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly helped build a new playground for the people of Uvalde, Texas.
Heroes Harry And Meghan Helped Build A New Playground At Uvalde Texas Following Mass School Shooting
The state was shocked by the events that led to a mass school shooting which reportedly killed 21 people at Robb Elementary. And in order to help the people of the area come together, the Sussexes decided to do their bit.
It is claimed that the Archwell Foundation teamed up with non-profit organisation KABOOM! The two in tandem helped to build the new ‘The DeLeon Park’ playground.
The playground is around 4 blocks away from the school. And the project gave the children an opportunity to have an input on what it should look like. Don McLaughlin, who happens to be the mayor of Uvalde, could not thank everyone enough for this gesture.
He said: “Coming together to build the new playground at DeLeon Park has given community members a way to unite around something positive as they try to heal.
“We are grateful for the rallying of support from KABOOM!, Archewell, and others.” This is a cause that was very close for the Sussexes, as Megan did attend in the immediate aftermath of the shooting at a memorial that had been held.
In some images here, we can see that she has arrived in order to lay down some white roses in honour of the deceased.
In addition, the nephew (John Martinez) of one of the deceased, Irma Garcia, had praised Meghan for reaching out to him via the telephone. And this commitment to giving back was summed up by Archewell too.
The foundation’s executive director, James Holt, confirmed as much: “It has been an honor to support the children and families in Uvalde design and build this amazing space where the community can come together.”
It is great to see the Sussexes put their support behind something positive that has made a visible difference. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
