Roxanne Perez has risen fast in NXT, but tonight has her biggest challenge to date. Cora Jade would pick her next opponent, and while on Monday Night RAW – linked up with former NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. Ripley has been injured for a while, and will be keen on coming back to the ring in a dominant way – showing the added edge she picked up as a part of Judgement Day. This could be the do or die moment for Perez in NXT, having to finally show that next level just to survive.
Roxanne Perez Gets Eradicated By Rhea Ripley
With Finn Balor & Damien Priest backing her up, it was a group of NXT legends – with two NXT Championships, the NXT North American, and NXT Women’s Championship in the legacy of The Judgement Day. Perez to her credit would show no fear as she hit the ring and the bell rang.
Ripley would toss Perez from the ring as it began, with Perez quickly back in. Perez would grab a wrist clutch before kicking away at the leg of Ripley. Ripley would block a School Boy pinfall attempt, before hitting a headbutt into a knee smash. A lariat would drop Perez, before Ripley looked for a powerbomb and was instead sent to the floor with a hurricanrana.
Ripley would come off the apron with a diving hurricanrana, only to be caught and thrown face first off the apron with an electric chair drop. Perez would take a running dropkick in the ring, but was able to kick out at two. A waist lock would be applied, with Perez fighting to stay in the match.
Ripley would turn Perez around, before unleashing with some elbow strikes to the back of the head. A big stomp would be avoided, before Perez would have a Russian Leg Sweep blocked. She’d be able to send Ripley from the ring, and nailed the suicide dive. Back in the ring, Perez would climb the top rope but was stopped halfway up.
She’d manage to take Ripley down with a Frankensteiner, but it wasn’t enough. Ripley was able to hit a facebuster, and was able to avoid Pop Rocks. Dominik Mysterio ran a distraction setting up Riptide for the victory.
Stacks Goes One On One With Shinsuke Nakamura
Stacks has not gotten on the right side of The Don of NXT lately. He went after Wes Lee following Tony D’Angelo being injured – and failed to get the win. Tonight, Stacks has another singles match, with a handpicked opponent courtesy of D’Angelo. The trick is, Stacks will find out with the rest of us – and D’Angelo kept this a secret.
The music would hit, and it was a song not heard by NXT in sometime – as former two time NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura would return to the brand. Stacks was rattled, knowing defeat was all but certain – but this was more about earning respect. He’d get in fast with a headlock, only for Nakamura to break free and hit an axe kick.
A knee drop would follow, getting Nakamura a two count. Stacks would block the mid-kick from Nakamura and attack the knee, only to be run down with the dropkick. Nakamura would string together some signature strikes, before setting up the sliding German Suplex in the ropes. Armbar would be applied, but Stacks would fight through the pain to get free and hit a running shoulder tackle. Kinshasa would follow, and Nakamura claimed the victory.
