Ice Cube is having an “I don’t wanna be associated with them” moment with Kanye West and his anti-Semitic views and said that the music and entrepeneur pulled him into his current situation.
Things stem from a recent appearance on Drink Champs where Ye went into his views and mentioned the “Natural Born Killaz” artist as an influence on his views of Jewish people.
Ice Cube Denies Influencing Kanye West’s Anti-Semitic Views – Claims He Was Dragged Into the Mess
On Twitter, he replied to the segment stating that he hates “that my name was dragged into this Drunk Champs bullsh**. I don’t know what Ye meant by his statements, you’re gonna have to ask him.” His tweet came prior to Drink Champs host and rapper N.O.R.E apologizing for the interview and the episode being pulled.
If you’re up on your hip-hop history, you’ll probably remember that there was a time when Ice Cube was accused of being Anti-Semitic for different reasons.
More recently, you have his support for Louis Farrakhan, some suspect social media posts, and his references to former NWA manager and Ruthless Records executive Jerry Heller in the 1991 diss track “No Vaseline.”
However, he’s really adamant that he didn’t tell Kanye West to say what he said or influence him to do so. Of course, Robert DeNiro didn’t set out to influence Mark David Chapman to kill John Lennon via his Taxi Driver performance.
Inspiration materializes in different ways even if the influence didn’t intend for a negative result to come of their works and words. Meanwhile, Kanye West is continuing to share his views via any platform possible.
