Ari Daivari wanted to buy the FTW Championship from HOOK, but learned that money truly can’t fix everything. Instead tonight, he will get a chance to earn the belt, as he goes one on one with the undefeated champion himself. Daivari has a serious edge in experience, and has shown plenty of skill in the ring to prove that. However, HOOK has been akin to lightning in a bottle during his time in AEW – and has been taking down the likes of QT Marshall & Angelo Parker. He’s 12-0, with his longest match going five minutes.
Eddie Kingston Needs To Make Changes
Before this match, we’d catch up with Eddie Kingston. He’d be put into an intervention with Lucha Bros, Ortiz & PAC – all urging Kingston to calm his head and not blow another job. PAC would be there to tell Kingston that Kingston was the one who blew his match with Guevara in New York, before walking off let down. There’s no doubt that Kingston is one of the best in the world – but his anger might be getting the worst of him again.
It Isn’t About The Money For HOOK
Daivari would offer HOOK cash to lay down and give the belt over. HOOK would slap the money into the air, before hitting the Exploder Suplex. Daivari would be thrown from the ring, and yanked HOOK out – before being run into the barricade. HOOK would toss Daivari into the ring, and Daivari would benefit from the high ground.
He’d stomp HOOK into the corner, before stomping him out. Daivari would hit some chops in the ropes, before HOOK would fight back with body punches. HOOK was kicked in the eye, but came back with the STO & Fisherman Suplex. Daivari would look for a roll up, before the Trust Butler Jeeves Kay would run a distraction. HOOK would be slammed into the mat for a two count.
Pepsi Twist would be blocked, as Daivari was sent to the apron and brought into the ring with Redrum. He’d tap out in the middle of the ring, surrounded by the money HOOK didn’t want for that belt. Still FTW Champion – HOOK!
Willow Nightingale Claims Another Big Victory
Willow Nightingale has been proving her skills in AEW over the past few weeks, recently coming close to claiming the TBS Championship. Tonight, she was set to face Penelope Ford, but this changed due to Ford getting hurt. Instead, the TBS Champion Jade Cargill would allow Leila Gray to wrestle tonight, saving Rampage and demanding that AEW gets her belt back from Nyla Rose in return.
Gray would look to avoid locking up with Willow as this match began, before being lifted into a mat return. Willow moved into a front headlock, with Gray able to wrestle free before being dropped with a shoulder tackle. Body slam would follow, before Kiera Hogan would attack Willow on the floor.
Willow would be dropped with a facebuster in the ring, but would look to respond by taking Gray off her feet. The running senton would be avoided, with Gray hopping into a sleeper hold. Willow would fight free with some forearm shots, before an enziguri would land. Running boot to the face would be followed by the spinebuster. Gray would get the Russian Leg Sweep before a rising knee in the corner. Bulldog would be blocked with a backdrop, before The Babe With The Powerbomb would end this match. After this, it would be announced that Willow is ALL ELITE!
