Since winning the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, Katana Chance & Kayden Carter have claimed that they have beaten all the teams in the division. Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons beg to differ, and after defeating Toxic Attraction – are the number one contenders. They get their chance to hold gold tonight, and Stark knows all about being NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion – previously holding gold with DAMAGE CTRL member Iyo Sky. Can she become a two time champion, with Lyons claiming her first NXT gold? That depends on if Carter & Chance can shut them down here tonight.

Zoey Stark & Nikkita Lyons Flaunt A Power Edge Over The Champions

Lyons would start off with Carter, quickly taking her down to the mat. Carter would fight back to her feet before missing a kick. Lyons would rush Carter into the corner, allowing Stark to get the tag and keep the pressure on. Stark would miss a running kick, with Carter getting the tag to Chance.

A burst of speed from the champions would see Stark cut down to the size, with Chance getting a two count off a slingshot senton. Stark would show her speed landing on her feet out of a hurricanrana, before taking a running dropkick. Carter would assist in getting Chance into a flying headscissor, before Lyons would run Chance down with a lariat.

Lyons applied the Canadian Backbreaker in the middle of the ring, but was unable to make Chance quit. Carter would get the tag before being taken down in the middle of the ring, with Lyons looking to apply an ankle lock. Chance would get the blind tag before getting a two count off a Victory Roll.

Carter & Chance would hit a double shotgun dropkick, before sending Stark & Lyons to the floor. Crossbodies off the apron would be caught, with Stark & Lyons hitting body slams on the floor. Carter would be put back into the ring, with Stark putting the pressure on in the ring with a tight sleeper hold.

Carter would be able to break free, throwing wild strikes before Stark would get her cornered and tag Lyons in. For a young team, Stark & Lyons did a great job cutting the ring in half – with Lyons getting a sleeper hold in, putting herself between Carter and a tag. Carter would break free and look for a Crucifix Driver, being stopped halfway – but adapting into a submission before taking Lyons down to the mat.

Pinning The Wrong Champion Leads To Restart

Lyons would show her power by rising back to her feet, but Carter was doing serious damage with the submission. Carter would be spun to her feet, but was able to hit a jawbreaker. Chance got the tag and went for a crossbody, but was caught into a spin out slam for a two count.

Carter would get the blind tag before cutting Lyons down. Stark would shield her partner, but paid for it with a dropkick. Lyons took the next dropkick, with Stark hit with a splash as Carter hit the mat. Chance & Carter would use their speed to drop Lyons, getting a two count off an assisted moonsault before Stark broke the pinfall up.

Stark would get the tag after Chance was launched across the ring. Chance was launched with a Half & Half Suplex, before getting a roll up for a two count. Carter would get tag and be sent to the floor, before Stark was able to roll up Chance. The three count was counted, but it was disputed by the champions with the non-legal wrestler being pinned.

This match would be restarted after the referees called for it. A brawl would break out, with Lyons run into the steel ring post. Stark was set up in the champs corner, with Carter taking Lyons out on the floor with a crossbody. Chance hit a Avalanche Spanish Fly for a two count, before a tag to Carter.

Stark would hit a German Suplex, before Lyons received the tag. The back heel kick into leg drop would almost get the win, before Chance rushed in with a dropkick. Lyons would get cut down with kicks, before the 450 Splash into neckbreaker for the win. A hectic match, but a showcase of two incredible teams.

If this match had a third fall, who would have left as champions? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
