Selena Gomez looked back at her mental struggles amid her impending documentary, ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.’
Selena Gomez Reveals All On Her Mental Health Struggles Amid Her Upcoming Documentary
The star has suffered from various issues, including anxiety and depression. In addition, she has also been diagnosed with lupus which is a condition that can result in joint pains, rashes and tiredness.
Not only that, but the star admitted that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020. And after having been through so much, Selena wanted to show her fanbase a different side to her story.
In her comments to Vanity Fair, Selena stated the following: “As nervous as I am to put out something this personal, in my heart I know now is this time.
“I hope that by sharing my experience and difficulties, it will help people feel inspired to share their own stories. And to have hope that things can and will get better.”
This documentary has been a long time coming since the star had initially began the idea in 2016. The project began filming but the cameras had to come to a halt after Selena decided to cancel her ‘Revival’ tour.
That is where she began to struggle with her mental health, which was compounded by the fact that she had to undergo a kid transplant as well as deal with her bipolar.
But through it all, she remained in contact with the director of the project, Alex Keshishian, as things came full circle. And by the looks of it, Selena has no regrets over how it all turned out.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “Just be who you are. No cares about what you’re doing. It’s about who I am, being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”
If this is something that you fancy watching, then the documentary will come out on Friday, 4th November 2022 via Apple TV+. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
