Mylah, who is two years old, chatters away in the background. “I talked with my mom yesterday, and she told me that she would like me over here, so we’re going to check some apartments here,” Yara, 31 years old, says. “We’re going to check some apartments here.” “Apartments? To what end?” Jovi inquires before referring to Prague as “random.” Yara immediately fires back, “Random place? This is not any random location; it is where my mother resided for so many years.”
Jovi tells his wife that she should have consulted him before making such an important move, especially if this was her plan. Yara insists, “I did not intend for this to happen.” “My mother has forwarded me some locations, and at this point, all I want to do is check them out. What exactly is the problem with that?” Jovi says , “Oh, so your mother is the issue here.
He says, “It’s nothing we’ve talked about; we didn’t say, ‘Oh hey, let’s plan a trip to Europe and go apartment hunting.’ I don’t want her mom to be trying to make decisions for her.” Back in the room, Jovi shared that his mother had cautioned him that Yara might wish to remain in Europe, and he added, “and now it seems as though that’s becoming a reality.”
Yara retorts, “Jovi, I’m not staying in Europe, I just want to check the place out, and that’s all.” “I’m not sure, but I think it would be nice to move closer to my family. Everyone is coming, and I feel they will require my assistance somehow.”
Jovi reminds Yara of the effort required to establish a life for their family in the United States, and that one of the requirements for her green card is to remain in the country for at least 180 days every year. “You can’t just get up and live in Europe. For you to even be considering this right now is kind of crazy to me. You agreed to come to the U.S. and start a new life in the U.S.,”
He stated. As things begin to heat up, Yara reminds her husband that she cannot return to Ukraine, her home nation. “To what end? Do you want to tell me that I’m acting in an idiotic manner?” She inquires before saying she can pay for the flat using her funds. Jovi adds, “We’re a family, and it doesn’t matter what you’re doing; you need to talk to me before you try to make some decision like that without me.”
